@mecscomms is recruiting for a remote based, home working - ServiceNow Developer to work for a global IT, ICT, Technology, Cloud, & Collaboration managed service provider. The ServiceNow Developer will design, develop & maintain IT service management solutions to support enterprise grade customer services. If you have expertise in the design, development & integration of ServiceNow platforms & web development skills across; Javascript, HTML or CSS technologies, I'm keen to hear from you.

Purpose: Develop the ServiceNow platform to successfully; capture, process & catalogue various IT Service Management (ITSM) & IT Operational Management (ITOM) issues, for large enterprise customer solutions. Seamlessly integrate the ServiceNow platform with multiple business systems & 3rd party applications. Maximise automation opportunities & ensure the efficient capture & management of all ITSM & ITOM issues.

Location: Work from home – remote working - anywhere UK

Overview:

The ServiceNow Developer is responsible for the development, maintenance & ongoing support of the ServiceNow platform, whist acting as a subject matter expert within the business.

You’ll work alongside various; operational management, technical support, service desk & managed services teams to understand the needs of the business, map those needs into business processes & then develop solutions within the ServiceNow platform to meet those business needs.

You’ll play a pivotal role in providing exceptional customer care through developing the systems which underpin the support & management of enterprise customer solutions, for a comprehensive suite of managed IT & technology products & services.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on ServiceNow within the business

• Collaboratively support key stakeholders in the business (operational management, technical support, service desk & managed services teams) to understand the needs of the business & map those into processes & solutions within the platform

• Understanding business processes & requirements

• Creating technical specifications & plans

• Create quality mock-ups & prototypes

• Design & implement fit-for-purpose solutions

• Develop & adhere to best practices for developing on the platform

• Customise the platform where required to enhance the end-user UI experience

• Establish automation where possible, whilst sticking close to out-of-the-box functionality

• Align platform design with business goals

• Produce detailed design documentation

• Writing test, implementation & change plans as required

• Perform testing support & defect fixing

• Develop documentation to assist users

• Manage data transformation & synchronisation between platforms

• Integrate ServiceNow with other third-party applications, business systems & billing platforms

• Collaborate effectively across teams, working efficiently to meet delivery dates

• Demonstrate ServiceNow modules to prospect customers

Candidate profile:

Candidates must have previous & similar ServiceNow development experience. You’re likely to be an accredited ServiceNow developer who’s worked within a Software Vendor, Managed Hosting, Cloud, Systems / Network Integrator or similar type of managed technology service provider. Your experience is likely to include as much of the following as possible:

• Experience in coding, scripting & the wider software development life cycle processes

• Performance Analytics development

• Configuring & developing ServiceNow platforms

• Inbound actions & notification development

• Virtual Agent & Predictive Intelligence exposure

• Web scripting technologies such as; JavaScript, Powershell, Java, SQL, HTML, CSS, XML, SOAP, REST, AJAX

• Developing integrations with the ServiceNow platform using web services / SOAP / email / plugins

• Relational database & SQL development

• Knowledge on Test Driven Development, CI/CD principles

• ITSM, ITOM & ITBM process

• ServiceNow SysAdmin & / or ServiceNow App Developer certified

• ITIL knowledge & / or certification
