The Network Engineer position is a hands on technical role with ownership for the successful deployment of enterprise class fixed & wireless network solutions, into customer environments. The role is project centric, providing exposure to a variety of commercial & technical environments & multiple vendors’ equipment. The Network Engineer will be responsible for planning, development, deployment, integration, testing, troubleshooting & the successful handover of large scale fixed & wireless network solutions across LAN & WAN infrastructure environments. You’ll play an important role in ensuring the customers’ requirements are realised through the design & delivery of network infrastructure solutions which meet business & technical objectives. Furthermore the Network Engineer will provide advanced 3rd Line technical support as well as developing designs, technical routines & instructions for other support teams. You will also be responsible for delivering infrastructure solutions (supported by the production of solution high & low level design documentation).

Reporting to the Network Services Delivery Manager, this Network Engineer role is accountable for undertaking a wide range of technical duties to design, install, configure & support enterprise class data networks for a variety of customers. To facilitate the achievement of business objectives & to drive further product adoption within customer accounts, the role will:
# Identify customer needs & translate these into technical requirements
# Carry out pre installation & onsite surveys
# Audit & document existing network infrastructure environments
# Lead design workshops & technical planning meetings
# Propose network designs & bill of materials
# Finalise solution designs & gain approval
# Install & set up core, distribution, access layer & data centre networks
# Configure & test all routing, switching, firewall etc. deployments
# Troubleshot new network deployments, to resolve any technical issues
# Complete post installation assessments
# Provide knowledge transfer to customer & support teams
# Provide advanced 3rd Line support to troubleshoot more complex faults
# Recommend maintenance & support procedures
# Advise product management teams about emerging technologies
Candidates should possess previous Network Engineer experience covering similar responsibly to those outlined above. You should have very strong technical skills & good customer facing approach.
Ideally you will have advanced networking, routing & switching skills gained within a an ISP, Network Service Provider, Managed Hosting, Cloud, Systems / Network Integrator or similar type of technology managed services provider environment.
Practical experience is most important however any professional accreditation such as; Cisco CCNA, CCNP, Alcatel ACFE, HP HPE, ATP or Aruba ACSA, ACMP, ACCA would be beneficial but is not essential. You should be familiar & experienced with:

# Working with large enterprise, mid-tier & public sector customers
# Strong customer & stakeholder management & consulting skills
